Position Overview

About the Team

The Compliance team focuses on building innovative experiences to simplify the complex, domain-specific processes required for plan administrators to abide by federal rules and regulations governing 401k plans. We collaborate across business functions and engineering teams to deliver a seamless and enjoyable customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Build features and enhancements that improve the lives of our customers.
  • Coach and mentor junior engineers to raise the bar in innovation, efficiency, and technical capability.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to share knowledge and build expertise.
  • Write clean, high-quality code and tests while keeping the system fast and reliable.
  • Develop and analyze monitors and tests to assess performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Develop ownership over critical retirement workflows and domains.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience designing, building, and maintaining large-scale backend software products and systems.
  • Experience building interactive web applications using modern Typescript frameworks.
  • Expertise in designing and building modular distributed applications to support extremely rapid customer base growth (100x).
  • Solid understanding of the current landscape of auto-scaling cloud technologies and efficient usage of compute, storage, network, and virtualization technologies (preferably AWS).
  • Ability to clearly articulate the business benefits resulting from technical decisions.
  • Enjoy mentoring other engineers and helping them grow technically, often becoming a key go-to person.
  • Proficiency in making necessary tradeoffs to ship code without compromising quality.
  • Thrive in a startup environment.
