Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain the availability, performance, and capacity of our production systems
  • Analyze system performance metrics and identify potential bottlenecks or areas for improvement
  • Develop and implement solutions to improve system reliability, availability, and performance
  • Participate in on-call rotations to respond to and resolve production issues
  • Automate routine operational tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort
  • Develop and maintain tools and scripts to automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and management
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of our monitoring and alerting systems
  • Participate in incident response drills and real-time incident response activities
  • Conduct thorough post-mortem analyses of incidents to identify root causes and prevent future occurrences
  • Drive continuous improvement in our incident response processes
  • Collaborate closely with software engineering teams to ensure that their applications are designed and built for reliability and operability
  • Provide guidance and best practices to software engineers on topics such as system design, deployment, and monitoring
  • Effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
