Jobber is seeking a seasoned production engineering professional to join their Product Software Engineering team as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer. The Software Engineering team is crucial to Jobber's success, developing software that benefits a global user base. The Cloud Infrastructure Team, specifically the "McCloud Team," plays a vital role in supporting product development teams, ensuring safe software releases, and maintaining application performance and stability, primarily utilizing ECS/Fargate in AWS.

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer on the McCloud Team, you will collaborate daily with peers through paired programming, meetings, and Slack to ensure team alignment. The team plans to split duties in 2025 between a core SRE team and a streaming team focused on cross-team collaboration. This role involves leveraging AI tools to enhance capabilities while upholding engineering standards and judgment. You will mentor colleagues, build relationships, and utilize leadership skills to drive results.

Reporting to the Manager, Production Engineering, the Senior Site Reliability Engineer will work with the cloud infrastructure team to build and maintain advanced products supporting customer success.

Requirements

  • Seasoned production engineering professional.
  • Experience in site reliability engineering.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments, particularly AWS (ECS/Fargate).
  • Ability to leverage AI tools to augment capabilities.
  • Strong engineering judgment and adherence to standards.
  • Mentorship and relationship-building skills.
  • Leadership skills to drive results.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the cloud infrastructure team to build and maintain cutting-edge products.
  • Ensure the safe release of software.
  • Maintain top-tier application performance and stability.
  • Participate in daily collaboration, including paired programming, regular Zoom meetings, and Slack conversations.
  • Contribute to the team's alignment, information sharing, and preparation for future initiatives.
  • Potentially contribute to either the core SRE team or the streaming team in 2025.
  • Leverage AI tools to augment capabilities while maintaining engineering judgment and standards.
  • Mentor peers and build relationships, ensuring understanding of role impact across the company.
  • Utilize leadership skills to drive results within the McCloud Team.
