Requirements

  • 5-7 years of professional experience in private equity, management consulting, corporate development, or strategic operations, with extensive experience in M&A integration leadership
  • Proven success in leading complex, cross-functional integration initiatives for M&A transactions
  • Exceptional project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and present to diverse stakeholders, including C-level executives
  • Strong analytical skills with a practical and structured approach to problem-solving, and the ability to define and track key performance metrics
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, SmartSheet, Asana, or similar)
  • MBA or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
  • Based in Chicago with the expectation of being in the office three days a week

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of end-to-end integration efforts for acquired entities, ensuring alignment with the strategic rationale and operational goals
  • Develop and manage comprehensive integration project plans, defining clear milestones, workstreams, KPIs, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (e.g., HR, IT, Finance, Legal, Operations) to ensure timely delivery of integration milestones and resolution of interdependencies
  • Design and implement governance frameworks, including facilitating Steering Committee meetings with senior leadership and C-suite executives, providing clear and concise executive-level updates on progress, risks, and required decisions
  • Engage in due diligence efforts to understand strategic objectives and provide early assessments for integration planning and risk identification
  • Act as a liaison helping to manage cultural alignment and effective change management strategies
  • Track integration performance metrics and conduct post-integration reviews to capture lessons learned and continuously refine the M&A integration playbook
  • Manage project budgeting and resource planning for integration activities
