Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
  • 10 or more years’ business, analytical, technical and/or product experience
  • Demonstrated success in leading high-performing teams, with direct people management responsibilities
  • 10+ years of product management experience, including 5-7 years leading product owners (preferred)
  • Proven success managing internal-facing products and experience-driven solutions (preferred)
  • Deep understanding of Agile, Lean, and Design Thinking principles (preferred)
  • Strong background in change management, process improvement, and organizational transformation (preferred)
  • Agile and Change Management certifications (preferred)
  • Strategic thinker with a visionary mindset and the ability to influence across all levels of the organization (preferred)
  • Experience leading application design and configuration in systems such as Service Now, Miro, and Jira (preferred)
  • Passionate about cultural change and enabling teams to thrive in modern ways of working (preferred)
  • Experience with application based AI implementations (preferred)
  • Ability to work in a hybrid model with presence expected three days per week at one of M&T Bank’s regional offices (Buffalo, NY; Baltimore, MD; Boston, MA; Bridgeport, CT; Wilmington, DE), with preference for candidates within commuting distance
  • Prepared to travel at least once per month, with frequency potentially higher based on business demands and location

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Product Vision & Strategy for internal transformation offerings that support enterprise agility and cultural change
  • Own and evolve the product roadmap for tools and learning experiences that enable “The Way We Work” across the bank
  • Lead and develop a team of 3-5 direct-report Product Owners, each of whom are people leaders themselves, overseeing a broader organization of 10-15 team members
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and customer-centricity across the full product delivery ecosystem
  • Champion agile practices, design thinking, and change management across the organization, influencing senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams
  • Prioritize and align backlogs across multiple teams to ensure delivery of high-impact outcomes
  • Collaborate with UX, engineering, and business partners to design experience-driven solutions that improve how employees work and learn
  • Remove blockers and enable team success through strategic guidance, coaching, and stakeholder engagement
  • Advocate for continuous improvement, process optimization, and scalable transformation practices
