Requirements

  • Experience with hands-on HR operations and strategic ownership of employee lifecycle programs
  • Expertise in onboarding and offboarding processes, including workflows and documentation via HRIS like Sequoia One
  • Knowledge of California and federal employment laws (e.g., wage & hour, EEO, FMLA, ADA)
  • Ability to draft, update, and communicate HR policies, employee handbook, and process documentation
  • Experience partnering with internal/external counsel on regulations, sensitive matters, and compliance audits (e.g., EEO-1)
  • Skills in evaluating and optimizing HR technology stacks
  • Ability to design and lead employee programs (performance management, rewards & recognition, engagement, onboarding)
  • Strategic partnership with leadership on career ladders, compensation bands, performance/compensation philosophy, hybrid work, and office strategy
  • Entrepreneurial, resourceful mindset as a self-starter in a dynamic environment; thrives building systems from the ground up
  • Individual contributor capable of owning projects end-to-end without managing direct reports

Responsibilities

  • Own and refine end-to-end onboarding process for seamless new hire experience
  • Manage onboarding/offboarding workflows, employment documents, background checks, and compliance forms via Sequoia One
  • Handle offboarding including exit interviews, asset returns, and compliance documentation
  • Stay current on California/federal employment laws and ensure compliant company policies
  • Draft, update, and communicate HR policies, employee handbook, and process documentation
  • Provide guidance on wage & hour laws, EEO, FMLA, ADA, and other regulations
  • Partner with internal/external counsel on regulations, sensitive matters, and policy alignment
  • Support compliance audits and reporting (e.g., EEO-1 filings)
  • Design and drive employee programs: performance management, rewards & recognition, engagement, and onboarding
  • Partner with leadership on career ladders, compensation bands, performance/compensation philosophy, hybrid work, and office strategy
