Candidates should have experience with optimization tools and libraries such as Gurobi, CPLEX, and PuLP, along with knowledge of Machine Learning algorithms and systems with at least one application deployed to production. Strong programming skills in Python and proficiency in data manipulation, analysis, and visualization are required, as well as excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate business problems into mathematical models. A Master’s or PhD in Operations Research is preferred.
The Senior Operations Research Engineer will be responsible for building out Operations Research modeling for box filling algorithms, inventory forecasting, and supply chain optimization, as well as developing machine learning models for grocery personalization algorithms. They will also analyze experiment results, interpret production data, and plan future iterations, collaborating closely with data scientists and operation research experts to tackle core challenges at Hungryroot and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
