Requirements

Candidates must possess strong software engineering and coding skills in Python, with experience contributing to production codebases. A minimum of 5 years of experience developing and deploying ML models end-to-end, including research, prototyping, and production implementation, is required. Hands-on experience with deep learning architectures such as ConvNets or Transformers is essential. An advanced degree (MS or PhD) in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or a related quantitative field, along with a solid foundation in statistics and experimental design, is necessary. Strong communication and collaboration skills are needed to work with cross-functional stakeholders and clearly articulate technical ideas. Familiarity with Pyspark, distributed data processing, search/recommendation systems, personalization, large language models (LLMs), or vision-language models (VLMs) is considered a plus.

Responsibilities

The Research Scientist will design and deploy architectural improvements for deep neural network (DNN)-based home valuation models. They will build interpretable ML models to explain pricing decisions and incorporate unstructured data, such as images, videos, or text, into forecasting and valuation pipelines using advanced AI models. Responsibilities also include collaborating with Engineering and Ops to enhance human-in-the-loop pricing systems, improving feature engineering and model training pipelines for production systems, and rethinking risk and optimization models using real-world data and domain insight.
