Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, coupled with over 5 years of experience in NPI, HW Production/Manufacturing, or similar roles. Proficiency in assembly and testing processes for Mobile, IoT, or imaging devices is essential, along with demonstrated experience in manufacturing process development and improvement, especially in fast-paced settings. Experience collaborating with subcontractors, broad technical competence across engineering disciplines, and a deep understanding of the development cycle are required. Familiarity with production processes like injection molding, PCBA fabrication, and cable over-molding, along with effective communication and teamwork skills, are also necessary. Nice-to-have qualifications include proficiency in reading schematic diagrams and PCB documentation, experience developing test solutions, familiarity with DFM processes, CAD skills (SolidWorks), Altium knowledge for test fixture design, and expertise in optics and image testing.
The Senior NPI Engineer will support new and existing Contract Manufacturers (CMs) in qualifying designs for mass production. This role involves driving root-cause and corrective action plans to resolve devices in quarantine, managing continuous improvement initiatives to increase yield and lower production costs, and owning the NPI cycle for quality-of-life design changes to support existing products. The engineer will also be responsible for launching new products and sustaining existing designs throughout their lifecycle.
