Requirements

  • BSME minimum or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years or more experience in product and mechanical design
  • Designed a broad range of products
  • Experienced in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), and Design for Assembly (DFA), statistical tolerance analysis techniques, CTF dimensioning, and geometric tolerancing
  • Excellent 3D CAD experience, i.e. Creo(ProE), Catia, Solidworks, Unigraphics
  • Understand CTF dimensioning and GD&T
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to use statistical tools and techniques with a good grasp of finite element analysis theory and mechanical engineering analysis
  • Flexibility working in a dynamic, results-oriented environment
  • Experience in manufacturing processes like casting, plastics, sheet metal, etc
  • Background in leading resources including consultants, component suppliers, and manufacturing partners
  • Experience working with supply chains and manufacturers
  • Experience with processes to realize Industrial Design requirement including quality materials and finishes etc. (background in Human Factors and Quality is a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the execution of product design either individually or by leading a combination of internal contributors, outside suppliers and Product Design Engineers
  • Play a leading role in mechanical architecture definition and product development
  • Prepare early design concepts and product architecture working with fast-paced industrial and consumer product marketing cycles
  • Drive all design aspects of mechanical systems, i.e. Structures, Displays, Acoustic, Battery, Antenna and Thermal Systems, etc
  • Research ground-breaking technologies, materials and processes
  • Innovate with Industrial Design to invent groundbreaking products
