Requirements

Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Vehicle/Automotive Engineering, or a related field
Vehicle industry knowledge and experience
Strong track record of developing and shipping products in the consumer or vehicle industries
Deep understanding of vehicle systems and design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes

Responsibilities

Develop and lead the design of specific Mechanical Systems for Pebble vehicles, including integrating the Aero-box with the body and chassis, installing and optimizing e-Steps for vehicle access, and providing mounts and interfaces for powertrain components on the vehicle chassis and body
Create and execute innovative vehicle design concepts, guiding them from initial concept to production implementation, utilizing a strong knowledge of engineering and electromechanical principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and manufacturing, to ensure designs meet performance, safety, compliance, and quality standards while aligning with project timelines and budget constraints
Design and develop systems and components using calculations and analysis, including Computer Assisted Engineering (CAE) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), to optimize and validate system design and engineering, ensuring it meets functional and performance requirements
Develop, create, and manage design and engineering documentation, including CAD models, drawings, diagrams, schematics, routings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOM), ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is available for the project team
Continuously research and stay informed on emerging trends, technologies, and materials in the automotive industry, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation within the company's product portfolio
Lead design reviews, providing constructive feedback and recommendations for improvement to ensure a high level of product quality and functionality
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and customers, to address technical issues and ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables
