A Day in the Life of a Senior Manager, Security Operations at Calendly
- Lead and grow a team of security operations engineers responsible for detection engineering, incident response, threat intelligence, and monitoring.
- Guide the creation, tuning, and continuous improvement of detections across SIEM, EDR, and cloud platforms.
- Be hands-on where needed in investigations and response activities, especially in high-severity or high-visibility cases.
- Partner with Product Security, IT, and Engineering teams to improve visibility and drive remediation across infrastructure, applications, and endpoints.
- Own the MSSP relationship: define SLAs, track performance, and ensure accountability for high-quality detection and response support.
- Develop incident response processes, lead tabletop exercises, and own post-incident reviews.
- Work closely with the CISO to shape and track quarterly priorities, KPIs, and board-facing metrics.
- Represent Security Operations in engineering discussions and technical architecture reviews.
- Stay on top of the evolving threat landscape and bring in modern detection strategies aligned to Calendly's risk profile.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity.
- At least 4 years in security operations and incident response.
- Proven leadership experience managing security engineers and/or SOC teams.
- Deep technical expertise in SIEM, EDR, cloud security, and detection engineering.
- Experience driving and owning investigations end-to-end.
- Experience managing MSSPs or third-party detection services.
- Familiarity with scripting (Python, etc.), SOAR tools, and automation workflows.
- Skills:
- Strong collaboration skills; ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Clear communicator with ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable operating in a high-growth, fast-paced, remote-first environment.
- Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States, as Calendly does not provide immigration sponsorship at this time.

- Experience in a SaaS or cloud-native environment.
- Exposure to security standards like SOC 2, ISO 27001, or FedRAMP.
- Background in red/blue team collaboration or threat hunting.
