The Opportunity

Flock Safety is seeking a Director of Information Security to join our team, reporting directly to the Chief Security Officer. Within Flock's Security Organization, you will collaborate across product teams, infrastructure organizations, and various security functions in an engineering-driven environment to enhance the information security posture for over a thousand Flock employees.

We are looking for a security leader with the ability to work effectively with IT, HR, Legal, Compliance, and Engineering teams to secure our endpoints, SaaS applications, and networks. This role offers the chance to significantly impact Flock's security and privacy by leading both organizational and technical change.

This position demands strong cross-organizational leadership, excellent communication skills, deep technical security expertise, and a hands-on approach to security designs, threat modeling, security reviews, vulnerability management, and end-to-end security controls.

What You'll Do

You will be responsible for leading the organization that:

• Orchestrates cross-functional collaboration to develop comprehensive security protocols and ensure adherence.
• Engages with senior technical leadership to provide expert guidance on regulatory compliance.
• Strategically develops robust security policies and controls for endpoints, including laptops and remote work environments.
• Crafts and implements data-centric policies to safeguard financial records, sales data, product information, and HR data.
• Ensures security for corporate SaaS environments through continuous monitoring, threat detection, and vulnerability management.
• Drives the adoption of automation and advocates for cutting-edge security tools.
• Proactively identifies, assesses, and mitigates potential delivery risks across all organizational functions.
• Escalates significant delivery risks and critical issues to higher management.
• Collaborates to establish and evolve security policies, standards, and risk management practices with Risk and Compliance teams.

The Skillset

• Minimum of 10 years of direct management experience in Security Leadership roles.
• Proven ability to plan and independently direct security initiatives, encompassing both hands-on engineering and managerial responsibilities.
• Experience managing and responding to security breaches.
• Adaptability to the rapid learning and ambiguity inherent in fast-evolving fields such as AI.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain and develop security expertise.
