  • Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma
  • 5-10 Years Retail Experience with Strategy development and proven execution leading large projects and initiatives
  • 5-10 Years Leadership Experience, demonstrated success leading cross-functional project teams with a strong ability to influence
  • Strong Team leader with experience in coaching and collaborating in large team settings
  • Excellent Presentation skills and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and execute forward-looking strategies aligned with the merchandise GMM’s 3-5 year plan for complex categories, in partnership with cross-functional teams to achieve profit and loss deliverables
  • Support the creation of the SVP’s 3-year AOP and oversee all new merchandise concepts and tests end-to-end, ensuring execution, validation, and readiness for business as usual
  • Successfully plan, resource, and deliver merchandising concept development projects as per the Merchandising AOP
  • Act as key stakeholder in AOP discussions to ensure projects align with the strategic plan and manage the merchandising budget to support investments in remodels
  • Take end-to-end ownership of concept development process, including business case development, capital trade-off decisions, and implementation planning
  • Influence cross-functional groups (e.g., Finance, Technology, Legal, Construction, Ops) and merchandising GMMs/DMMs for successful implementation and to build pipeline of projects/concepts supporting remodels and partnerships
  • Support SBU SVPs with development/update of SBU 3-year strategy, AOP, and Customer Value proposition; lead all SBU strategic reviews with internal management
  • Own planning and update of long/short-term $ investment (CapEx, OpEx) scorecard for Merchandising SBU projects; serve as program lead for assigned SBU projects
  • Develop best practices for Innovation Pipeline and new Concept development for Merchandising SBUs; partner with external companies/other Walmart countries on concept development
  • Track KPIs for projects implemented to gate National scale-up of successful concepts
  • Own and update 'Guiding Principles' by department and category, challenging core Merchants to think differently and optimize where needed
  • Own Supercenter Template review process and communication of approved elements
