Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in product design (SaaS experience preferred, but not required)
  • 5+ years of experience managing and leading product design teams
  • Proven track record of shipping high-quality, impactful work
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing design teams
  • Demonstrated ability to make hard decisions with accountability and transparency
  • Ability to remove ambiguity, and be adaptable and flexible
  • Understanding of key business metrics and how to connect them to design
  • Excellent cross-disciplinary collaboration and organizational agility
  • Expert in user research methodologies and ability to translate research findings into actionable design strategies
  • Strong understanding of interaction design principles, data visualization, and information architecture
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working on large-scale, complex projects and agile development processes

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the design vision and strategy for the Documents UX, partnering with Product and Engineering to translate business goals, data, and customer insights into actionable design strategies and solutions
  • Build, lead, and mentor a team of product designers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence
  • Partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of design into the product development lifecycle
  • Establish and continuously improve design processes, standards, and best practices, ensuring consistency and scalability across the Documents experience
  • Champion user-centered design principles, leveraging user research and data to inform design decisions and drive product improvements
  • Effectively communicate design concepts, strategies, and rationale to stakeholders at all levels, influencing product direction
  • Hire and develop top talent, conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and support the professional development of the team
  • Manage design resources and forecast future needs, ensuring the team is adequately staffed to meet product goals
  • Contribute to and evolve Clio’s design system, ensuring consistency and efficiency across the platform
