Requirements

Candidates should possess 4+ years of engineering management experience, totaling 8 years or more of overall experience. They must have demonstrated experience developing SaaS/PaaS products in a production environment, with a proven ability to ship features rapidly within a dynamic product landscape. Furthermore, candidates are expected to have 2+ years of experience working with Kubernetes and 2+ years of experience with Go (Golang), alongside familiarity with AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform. Strong engineering practices and software craftsmanship are also required.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Manager, Engineering - Infrastructure at Starburst, the individual will collaborate with technical leads, management, and product managers, managing and motivating teams of software engineers focused on the infrastructure software for Starburst products, including Starburst Galaxy and Trino. They will drive technical direction, provide leadership in an agile environment, partner with other engineering leaders to define best practices, and coach and mentor engineers of all levels. Additionally, the role involves recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new engineers, and contributing to the design and development of the infrastructure software.
