Requirements

Experience leading domestic and/or international corporate accounting operations teams
Expertise in month-end close processes, statutory financial statements, management information systems (MIS), and dashboards for local and global reporting
Knowledge of balance sheet reconciliation, fluctuation analysis, and providing assurance on financial accuracy to senior management
Proficiency in managing corporate accounting records for external audits and liaising with internal/external auditors
Ability to develop and evaluate global operating standards for corporate accounting and ensure compliance with global and local accounting standards
Understanding of local accounting pronouncements, regulatory changes, and their interpretation/application
Familiarity with Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), GST, and other statutory compliance requirements, including secretarial and governance frameworks
Skills in driving procedural changes, internal controls, transfer pricing implementation, and fraud prevention
Experience in cost accounting, budgeting, accounts payable/receivable, procurement policy compliance, and vendor management
Ability to provide strategic financial support and participate in senior leadership teams, steering committees, and special projects

Responsibilities

Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew; provides guidance and training; sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes compensation decisions per HR policies
Oversees month and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely completion of statutory financial statements, MIS, dashboards, consolidation, regulatory reporting, balance sheet reconciliation, and fluctuation analysis
Oversees delivery of corporate accounting records to external auditors during annual audits and liaises with auditors to address queries and make adjustments
Develops and evaluates global operating standards for corporate accounting; ensures compliance and monitors changes to local accounting pronouncements
Participates in senior corporate accounting leadership team/steering committee, providing advice on organization, business process design, and technology prioritization; supports COO, Transformation, and PMO offices strategically
Drives development and implementation of procedural changes to policies for controls and workflow improvements; recommends and monitors control environment to safeguard against fraud, misuse, and inefficiency; oversees internal controls over financial reporting and transfer pricing
Advises on interpretation/application of new/complex accounting regulatory changes; guides internal business clients on policy/procedure updates
Ensures adherence to FEMA, GST, and other statutory compliance, including secretarial and governance frameworks
Champions controls for business risk and process efficiency with business partners; identifies and addresses risk issues in daily processes
Promotes use of dashboards; monitors departmental procedure documentation; partners with global finance on cost control, procurement compliance, and vendor management/renewals
Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned
