Requirements

  • Ability to lead and deliver contracting capability, including efficient contract review, issue identification, analysis, redlining, negotiation, and management of escalations to the legal department
  • Strong skills in managing and driving effective collaboration across operational functions within GPS and cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., Legal, Process Owners, business stakeholders)
  • Capability to handle a variety of agreement types and workload with short/expedited deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work quickly, diligently, independently, and efficiently
  • Proficiency in working with the GPS Agile team to resolve complex negotiation issues timely and push deals to execution
  • Knowledge of BMS policies, procedures, and compliance areas (e.g., privacy, finance, taxation, customs and trade, information security, systems quality, EHS, System Access, Audits)

Responsibilities

  • Drive and manage the end-to-end contracting process in support of operations with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Perform due diligence by issue spotting, assessing risk-mitigating options, and contract analysis to identify key legal terms needing mitigation by BMS Legal team
  • Act as a conduit across the GPS Agile Sourcing team to triage and support various agreement terms and negotiations across categories
  • Drive and manage the end-to-end contracting process and execute contracts timely with appropriate legal support to ensure compliance with company standards
  • Negotiate business/commercial terms to advance BMS’ interests, explain contractual risks and implications to internal stakeholders to drive decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with applicable guidelines, company policy, and obtain required SME input
  • Maintain awareness of pre-contracting steps, including underlying BMS policies and procedures related to contracts and contracted activities
  • Partner directly with adjacent stakeholders and deliver on complex, high-risk issues or projects
  • Act as a trusted advisor to GPS category managers, site contacts, and leadership to ensure procurement strategies meet business requirements
  • Act as an expert facilitator to manage and lead complex contract negotiations with stakeholders, procurement, legal, and other participants including SMEs
  • Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure timely, compliant, and efficient contracting
