Requirements

  • 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD
  • Preferred: 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD

Responsibilities

  • Drive Visa reach through promoting and selling Visa products, payment solutions, value-added services for merchants and acquirers in Azerbaijan
  • Be accountable for strengthening and extending Visa's impact with assigned accounts of top merchants, PSPs, and acquirers from Azerbaijan, leading relationships and commercialization of Visa's business development objectives
  • Identify and assess F2F acquiring and eCom development trends, opportunities, and threats in Azerbaijan
  • Qualify and quantify market-specific opportunities in close cooperation with the local team and understand factors critical to successful cooperation with merchants, PSPs, and acquirers
  • Actively contribute to market business development including strategy, planning, and implementation
  • Ensure the sub-regional merchant solutions strategy and plans are effectively communicated to and understood by relevant stakeholders in Azerbaijan
  • Develop a strong understanding of Visa's products and services as well as the entire payments industry and ensure their proactive sales to merchants, PSPs, and acquirers
  • Make suggestions to relevant Visa teams on product improvement, pricing, provide customer feedback, and come up with independent ideas on adding products/solutions or adapting them to local market requirements
  • Carry out proactive actions to increase F2F acquiring and eCom Visa acceptance in Azerbaijan, find untapped merchant segments, and work towards financial literacy of SMEs and its enablement
  • Facilitate co-brand initiatives with merchants and issuers including prospecting, lead development, business cases, negotiations, active selling, and contracting for profitable new co-brand opportunities
  • Support co-brand deals after launch, control results, upsell products, and handle deal renewals and extensions
  • Drive deeper penetration of consumer payments, B2B solutions, and power client business with value-added services
  • Define, align, and achieve business objectives with sub-regional merchant sales plans, coordinate implementation within budget and resource constraints
  • Collaborate closely with local team, sub-regional, and Dubai-based staff to manage business, technical, service, and legal relationships with stakeholders (banks, vendors, third parties) and incorporate learnings
  • In conjunction with sub-regional staff, manage provision of consultancy to acquirers, merchants, ISVs, TPAs, etc. on Visa products and solutions
  • Represent Visa by speaking at conferences and business meetings and undertaking public relations activities where appropriate
