Expertise in NonStop/Mainframe operating systems (OS), firmware, and Independent Software Vendor (ISV) products
Experience with database management systems (DBMS)
Ability to troubleshoot hardware and operating system issues
Strong understanding of disaster recovery procedures
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to document projects and procedures

Responsibilities

Designs, develops, installs, configures, and maintains enterprise operating and infrastructure systems
Researches and evaluates NonStop/Mainframe OS, firmware, and ISV product upgrade packages
Provides expert knowledge of assigned native programs and ISV software
Recommends configuration settings for systems
Performs upgrades and new product installations (under limited review)
Understands the impact of product roll-outs and proposes roll-out schedules
Resolves daily and on-call issues
Documents moderate to complex projects
Peer reviews the work of others
Conducts necessary modifications to communication channels and ensures successful message/transaction and data migration processes
Supports higher-level System Administrators in strategy and rule definitions
