Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and be admitted to the bar of a relevant jurisdiction, along with at least 10 years of combined experience at a well-respected law firm and in-house legal department, with preference given to the technology sector. They should have hands-on litigation experience in Internet law, including areas such as platform safety, minor safety, privacy, consumer protection, CDA 230, DMCA, and related subject matters, and demonstrate a strategic mindset that balances proactive action with pragmatic risk management.
The Senior Litigation Counsel will advance Discord’s interests in disputes of all shapes and sizes, defend the company in litigation matters, both pre-litigation and regulatory investigations, supervise and collaborate with outside counsel on complex matters, continue to build and implement systems for efficient e-discovery, monitor new and changing laws and anticipate evolving litigation liability and risk, and learn how disputes arise and identify ways to pre-empt them.
