Requirements

Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in software development with a strong focus on Java backend development, along with solid knowledge of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns. They should have experience with Terraform, unit testing, integration testing, and test-driven development (TDD), and proficiency in Git and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD). Furthermore, candidates are expected to have knowledge in Kafka, Kubernetes, GraphQL Federation, and Azure Cloud, alongside strong problem-solving and analytical skills, excellent communication, and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

The Senior Java Backend Developer will design and implement robust and scalable backend solutions using Kotlin or Java, contributing to the entire software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment. They will work in an Agile and collaborative environment, taking ownership of the technical aspects of development, and mentoring junior developers. Additionally, they will monitor and interpret changes in employment legislation across North America and develop HR policies to ensure compliance, conduct audits, deliver training, and advise management on HR-related risk mitigation strategies.
