12+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
5+ years of engineering management experience
A demonstrated track record of successfully recruiting and leading technical teams in a competitive talent market
Rock-solid engineering fundamentals with experience in developer-facing technologies, client-server protocols, database internals, or distributed systems
Extremely strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to handle complex technical challenges
Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Outstanding written and oral English language skills for clear documentation and presentations

Responsibilities

Lead and grow a team of talented engineers in the design, development, and support of the foundational clients that connect to Snowflake's highly parallel and fault-tolerant platform
Own the strategy and execution for the Drivers, SDKs, APIs, and Clients pillar, with a primary focus on delivering a unified driver stack that consolidates existing drivers into a single, high-performance universal driver core
Recruit top talent by interviewing and hiring new team members in a competitive market to grow the team's capabilities
Develop your people by being responsible for the career growth of your reports, providing continuous mentorship, coaching, and guidance
Drive technical direction by leading and participating in technical, design, and product discussions relating to your team's components
Collaborate across the organization with other leaders in Engineering and Product on quarterly planning, staffing, and project schedules, including with teams across different time zones
Effectively shift resources across areas and projects to achieve execution goals and respond to customer feedback and production issues
Foster a culture of creativity and innovation while also promoting practical decision-making and a high-quality bar
