Extensive experience with modeling and planning the bulk electric power system
Strong technical skills in long-range load forecasting, testing, and planning
Ability to leverage company and industry data to anticipate optimal design for infrastructure improvements (e.g., AC transmission lines, wind farms, battery storage, FACTS devices, Inverter-Based Resources (IBR))
Advanced knowledge of electrical theory as applied to planning an electric power supply system
Detailed knowledge and experience producing results and conclusions using power system tools (inferred from context)

Responsibilities
Lead, conduct, and present scenario and probabilistic based planning studies under existing and forecast system conditions
Use technical experience to contribute sound engineering input for robust, reliable, low-cost solutions
Exchange and critically review data and assumptions from regional and industry stakeholders
Interface with ISO-New England, area transmission owners, and Eversource departments (e.g., UG and OH engineering, Substation Technical, DER, Operations) to understand and mitigate system needs and enable reliable growth
Coordinate and oversee studies by vendors and consultants, analyze assumptions, and review conclusions for company initiatives
Prepare engineering output and summarize in reports, spreadsheets, and presentations for colleagues, management, industry groups, and stakeholders
Collaborate with cross-functional groups to develop long-range planning standards and criteria for new technologies (e.g., PV solar, EVs, battery storage)
Support Eversource Control Room with long-term outage coordination, short-circuit, and switching transient studies
Work with Substation Engineering to study and identify substation equipment specifications, insulation coordination, overvoltage/overcurrent protection, harmonics, and mitigation
Collaborate with ISO-NE, academia, and DOE National Labs on power system planning, operation technology strategy, research, and development
Represent Eversource on regional, national, and international committees/working groups (e.g., NATF, IEEE, state public utility commissions)
Demonstrate self-sufficiency, accountability, consistency, and cooperation across departments
Conduct operation studies to validate and suggest operation procedures
Mentor and provide technical training to Junior/Associate engineers
Perform emergent storm assignments during inclement weather or adverse conditions
Conduct studies in adherence to criteria from Eversource, ISO-New England, NPCC, and NERC
