Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, with a Master's degree preferred, and 5 to 8 years of related experience. Proficiency in power system analysis software like PSS/E, TARA, Powerworld, or ASPEN Oneliner is preferred. Experience with economic analysis tools such as ProMod and PLEXOS, along with an understanding of state and federal utility regulation and ISO/RTO processes, is required. Strong analytical, communication, and strategic thinking skills are essential. Experience testifying in regulatory proceedings is helpful. A valid motor vehicle license is necessary.

Responsibilities

The Senior Engineer will conduct transmission engineering and economic analyses related to New England's clean energy transition. Responsibilities include preparing and submitting data, reports, and compliance filings to ISO New England, and serving as a transmission engineering subject matter expert in various forums. This role involves modeling the electricity sector, monitoring transmission projects and resource interconnections, developing process improvements for data management, reviewing key filings, and implementing stakeholder engagement strategies. The engineer will perform power flow, economic capacity expansion, production cost, and probabilistic modeling analyses, oversee consultants, and conduct independent technical studies. They will also provide expertise on network and interconnection issues, analyze policy proposals, develop recommended policy positions, create analytical products for advocacy, scrutinize technical reports, and represent Eversource on regional and national committees. Leading internal teams to achieve consensus and supporting external outreach are also key duties. The role may involve serving as an expert witness and requires availability for emergency restoration assignments and travel between MA, CT, and NH.
