Requirements

  • Knowledge of substation power system planning, engineering, maintenance, and operations (highly desirable)
  • Strong background in process improvement
  • Ability to interpret and analyze financial data (inferred from incomplete description)

  • Ability to work hybrid schedule (at least 3 days in office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, up to 5 days if needed)

Responsibilities

  • Provide input to the development of the Transmission Business capital budget
  • Identify, initiate, and prioritize projects for inclusion in the one-year and five-year Capital Budget Plan
  • Work with Engineering, Project Management, and Cost Estimating to develop detailed project scope, cost, and schedule
  • Lead interdisciplinary project team to select the best solution, document alternatives analysis, and present project approval justifications to the Solution Design Committee and/or Eversource Project Approval Committee
  • Develop operational strategies for the utilization of asset resources, considering asset life cycle planning and risk analysis
  • Analyze Transmission and Substation reliability, including goal setting, reporting, and System Operations Review Committee activities
  • Develop and issue transmission system performance measures; identify gaps and opportunities for future project performance improvements
  • Facilitate the creation and maintenance of the Transmission and Substation asset database
  • Implement and support tri-state processes for consistent collection and management of asset data
  • Perform asset data analysis to support asset management strategies and equipment replacement programs
  • Communicate the Asset Management strategy throughout Eversource and to external parties as necessary
  • Facilitate Transmission & Substation benchmarking efforts
  • Identify best practices and opportunities for future improvement
  • Oversee the development of asset strategies, tools, and procedures for managing Transmission assets
  • Ensure Eversource Business Strategy for the transmission program is optimally developed for highest system reliability at lowest costs, considering regulatory environment
  • Develop coordinated transmission programs and budgets
  • Identify process improvements with respect to development, approval, and management of transmission projects
  • Provide input to the development and prioritization of the transmission capital programs
  • Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with other functions
  • Benchmark Eversource’s transmission asset performance relative to the industry
