Requirements

Candidates must have at least 5 years of engineering experience in JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or Go, with working knowledge of at least one additional language. Experience building agentic workflows using LLMs, MCP, RAG, or other AI/ML tools is required, along with demonstrated ability to write clear code and a portfolio of developer-focused content. Excellent communication skills, confidence in presenting to various audiences, and a drive to engage developers are essential. Experience with modern frontend frameworks like React or Next.js, background in building developer tools, SDKs, or data pipelines, and 2-3 years in developer relations, community leadership, or technical advocacy are considered advantageous.

Responsibilities

The Senior Developer Advocate will build projects showcasing Algolia's capabilities, produce engaging video content, livestreams, and workshops, and publish high-impact blog posts, tutorials, and guides. They will present at conferences and meetups, act as the voice of the developer by relaying community feedback to product and engineering roadmaps, and grow and support the developer community through Discord engagement. The role involves selecting topics and tracking metrics to demonstrate impact on the developer community.
