Requirements

  • Comprehensive data management expertise in Clinical Data Management (CDM)
  • Ability to independently manage end-to-end delivery of data management services for single/multi-service projects, ensuring quality, timelines, budget, and customer satisfaction
  • Leadership and vision in project planning, execution, close-out, financial management, communications, and milestone deliverables
  • Experience performing roles such as Data Team Lead (DTL), Program Lead, Customer Site Manager, or leadership in specific CDM tasks (e.g., Subject Matter Expert (SME))
  • Compliance with Good Clinical Practices (GCPs), applicable regulatory guidelines, SOPs, policies, and CDM guidance documents
  • Ability to manage multiple large studies or programs of studies (possibly global)
  • Project management expertise for continuous process improvements, issue escalation, workload projections, and technical expertise
  • Skills in direct negotiations with customers on timelines, financials, processes, and resources
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills with customers, internal teams, and stakeholders
  • Experience in training and mentoring junior team members
  • Expertise in financial management, including SOW/budget review, change orders, pricing discussions, revenue recognition, and invoicing
  • Ability to support RFP processes (review documents, pricing, bid defense)
  • Proactive approach to quality management, root cause analysis, remedial actions, and process improvements

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary point of contact for customer on data management deliverables
  • Manage multiple large studies or program of studies (possibly global)
  • Provide leadership and senior support to DTLs on multiple large global studies/programs
  • Lead negotiations with customers on timelines, financials, processes, and resources
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and ensure open communications to meet contractual obligations
  • Meet regularly with Data Operations Coordinator (DOC) and team to ensure milestones, timelines, and quality
  • Provide training and development on data management to junior team members
  • Establish strong communications with Data Operations team, functional leads, project managers, and stakeholders
  • Independently manage DM service delivery with comprehensive DM process and technical expertise
  • Serve as escalation point for unresolved data issues and work with client data managers, vendors, and internal teams for resolution
  • Ensure appropriate resources are assigned to meet project deliverables
  • Create/review and sign-off on all data management plan (DMP) documents
  • Ensure service and quality meet DMP and contract/SOW specifications
  • Implement proactive quality management plans across multiple projects/programs/customer accounts
  • Manage service performance, identify root causes of issues, and implement remedial actions
  • Continuously improve services and implement plans to reorganize and drive change
  • Ensure timely follow-up and resolution of compliance issues
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) and provide leadership in specific CDM tasks or technologies
  • Serve as customer site lead for one or more customers
  • Train and mentor junior DTL staff; may coordinate their work
  • Independently maintain internal tracking databases and systems
  • Independently manage SOW/budget and review financial reports monthly
  • Identify out-of-scope tasks and track change orders
  • Participate in pricing discussions across customer accounts
  • Serve as Project Manager for single service DM projects, including financial tracking, revenue recognition, and invoicing
  • Support RFP process (review documents, pricing, attend bid defenses)
  • Bring process improvements and solutions to the CDM team/department
  • Lead a focus team (global or otherwise)
