Requirements

The ideal candidate possesses a passion for decarbonisation, extensive experience in a data science or analytics role with a proven track record of delivering business impact, and a product-minded approach. They must demonstrate the ability to extract clear objectives from broad challenges, have a hands-on attitude towards the entire data lifecycle, and possess great attention to detail. Expertise in communicating complex ideas clearly and influencing decisions with data is essential. Proficiency in SQL for writing performant queries, Python with data science libraries (sklearn, pandas, spark, etc.), data transformation, and data visualization & storytelling are required. Experience with DBT and working in ambiguity within a scale-up environment are considered bonuses.

Responsibilities

The Senior Data Scientist will collaborate with senior stakeholders to understand their goals and identify how the Data Team can assist. They will be responsible for the end-to-end design of technical solutions, including data gathering, analytics engineering, model selection, training, and interpretation. This role involves conducting experiments and proofs of concept by developing and deploying machine learning models to address growth and efficiency challenges, such as lead scoring and forecasting. The Senior Data Scientist will work closely with the Senior Data Engineer for model deployment, package insights into clear narratives for non-technical audiences, and contribute to the team's stack by building pipelines and DBT models for user self-service. They will also handle user-raised tickets for reporting, query assistance, and dashboarding, and help shape the team's direction.
