Requirements

Candidates should possess an MS degree in Data Science, Statistics, MIS, or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience, with over 7 years of experience as a Data Scientist. They need 7+ years of hands-on experience with SQL for data manipulation and 5+ years of experience with Python for statistical programming. Experience in developing, deploying, and maintaining ML models using MLFlow and/or AWS Sagemaker, particularly those based on energy data, is required. The role also requires experience evaluating ML models, communicating results to non-technical stakeholders, and a demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally to productionize and drive adoption of ML models by translating business needs into impactful ML modeling projects.

Responsibilities

The Staff Data Scientist will develop Machine Learning models using energy data for various company-wide use cases, including predictive maintenance and savings predictions. They will collaborate with stakeholders in Operations, Maintenance, and Consumer Solutions to scope and prioritize data modeling projects that enhance team efficiency and effectiveness. The role involves establishing best practices for measuring data model performance, educating stakeholders on the value and lifecycle of data products, mentoring team members on ML projects, and participating in tool selection decisions. Additionally, the position requires providing guidance to Analytics Engineers on data modeling needs for ML systems.
