Requirements

  • Expertise in SQL, Data Modeling, Lakehouse Architecture, and Python
  • Experience with Redshift, Airflow, AWS QuickSight, Databricks, Spark, and relational databases such as SQL Server
  • Capability to drive initiatives and articulate their value to engineering and other stakeholders
  • Experience delivering data products from conception to delivery
  • Great communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience facilitating workshops with disparate groups to reach common understanding and priorities
  • Passionate about designing elegant data solutions and platforms
  • 5+ years of professional/industry experience

Responsibilities

  • Work with engineering teams to ensure data is flowing accurately from data creation to presentation layers
  • Become an advocate for the Core Data team by developing and championing data best practices including scale, performance, and privacy considerations
  • Improve the data technology stack through containerization, data modeling, developing ETL pipelines, and building scalable/reliable solutions
  • Work with stakeholders and translate their needs and expectations into action items and deliverables
  • Create high-quality, business-ready data solutions suitable for consumption by non-engineers
  • Proactively brainstorm new metrics and data views for business partners to drive critical decision making
  • Maintain the data library with core metric definitions, sample data, and access tips
  • Conduct training sessions with brand data analysts to ensure they are equipped to support data needs at their dating brand
  • Communicate regularly with key customers and maintain accurate release notes for changes to the central data platform
  • Represent the voice of internal customers - advocate for changes, resourcing, re-architecture, or other blockers to high-quality, highly-available data
  • Support existing on-prem infrastructure and help expand processes into the cloud (AWS/Databricks)
