A minimum of 3 years of experience with data and business intelligence solutions on the Microsoft tool stack (ADF, SQL DW, Synapse, Databricks, Power BI, etc.) or other vendor BI tools is required. Strong verbal and written communication skills, a passion for problem-solving and learning new technologies, client relationship skills, experience managing vendors, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are essential. A strong desire for personal development and continuous learning is also necessary, along with experience in a support role understanding standard support processes like ITIL.
The Senior Data Engineer will lead support for clients' Azure Data platforms and Power BI environments, responding to escalations and resolving incidents. They will consult, develop, and advise on solutions using Microsoft Azure tools such as Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks, Azure ML, Data Lake, Data Warehouse, and Power BI, as well as Power BI governance, strategy, report development, and performance. Responsibilities include designing and deploying data pipelines, models, and AI-driven solutions, understanding Microsoft data solution licensing, and ensuring the quality of deliverables. The role involves supporting work estimation, communicating ticket status, interacting with clients to identify and troubleshoot issues, and communicating technical information in business terms. Additionally, the engineer will build client relationships, prioritize work effectively, recognize when escalation is needed, create and maintain documentation, promote best practices, and contribute to internal communities.
