Requirements

Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in software development, information systems, or a similar technical environment, with prior experience in developing highly transactional, mission-critical applications for multi-user systems. Additionally, 2 years of experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and Angular is required, along with proficiency in SQL, Stored Procedures, DDL, and experience with databases like SQL Server and MySQL. Proficiency in consuming RESTful APIs, experience with cloud-based platforms (preferably AWS), GitHub, TypeScript, and knowledge of client-server and web development are also necessary. Experience with Power BI and Power Automate is beneficial.

Responsibilities

The Sr. Support Engineer will act as the subject matter expert for Power BI, diagnosing and resolving complex internal user application issues escalated from lower support tiers. This role involves analyzing business and technical problems, configuring and tuning system frameworks, and managing platform health dashboards. Responsibilities include engaging appropriate resources to resolve technical issues, providing technical direction to teams, documenting defects and resolutions, and mentoring support personnel. The engineer will also ensure end-user support needs are met with high-quality service, lead the BI Support team, act as the first point of contact for complex BI production report issues, manage incidents and access tickets, perform root cause analysis, and administer Power BI workspaces, gateways, datasets, and user permissions. Optimizing dataset refreshes, report performance, and BI capacity usage, supporting deployments, release management, proactive monitoring, providing advanced user support and training, creating documentation and SOPs, and collaborating with stakeholders to resolve upstream issues are also key duties. Ultimately, the Sr. Support Engineer ensures the reliable operation and continuous improvement of the Power BI environment.
