Requirements

Candidates should have 5+ years of experience in data engineering with a strong track record of building and maintaining modern data infrastructure and experience supporting analytics across multiple business departments. Expertise in SQL, data warehousing using Snowflake, dbt for data modeling, testing, and documentation, and Tableau Server administration is required. Deep experience with version control (Github) and CI/CD practices, along with some experience with Python and APIs, is also necessary. The ideal candidate can design efficient data systems, communicate complex systems to technical and business audiences, and is comfortable working in ambiguous business contexts.

Responsibilities

The Senior Data Engineer will own and maintain Brightline's modern data platform, ensuring data integrity, scalability, and security. Responsibilities include monitoring and improving the performance of the Snowflake data warehouse, Stitch ingestion layer, dbt transformation layer, and Tableau analytics layer. They will build data pipelines/APIs, implement best practices in data engineering (CI/CD, testing, documentation), and minimize data platform costs. The role also involves designing and implementing scalable dbt models and ELT pipelines, partnering with stakeholders to deliver trusted data sets, and designing Tableau dashboards. Collaboration across technical and non-technical teams to deliver high-impact data solutions and translating business questions into engineering requirements are key aspects of the position.
