Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience. A minimum of 7 years of database management experience is required, with at least 3 years specifically focused on MySQL, Snowflake, and Redshift Spectrum. Proficiency in database administration, including replication, clustering, and high availability, is essential. Expertise in MySQL, Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, and Redshift Spectrum, including query tuning, partitioning, and data lake integration, is necessary. A strong understanding of SQL and database internals, including storage engines and query execution plans, is required. Experience with data pipeline tools like Apache Airflow or AWS Glue, knowledge of monitoring tools such as CloudWatch or Prometheus, and familiarity with scripting languages like Python or Bash are also needed. Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS services like S3, Lambda, and IAM, is required.
The Senior Data Infrastructure Engineer will lead and manage MySQL and Snowflake database platforms, with additional support for Amazon Redshift. Responsibilities include the maintenance, administration, upgrades, and migration of databases to ensure high-performance, scalable, and secure data solutions. The role involves scaling data infrastructure, optimizing performance, and ensuring the reliability and security of mission-critical systems. Key duties include developing and enforcing database standards, best practices, and security protocols; monitoring and analyzing database performance for optimization; managing data lifecycle policies; administering environments including user access, roles, and cost controls; implementing and managing backup and disaster recovery strategies; ensuring database high availability through replication and clustering; performing routine maintenance tasks like patching and upgrades; automating database operations; implementing monitoring solutions; ensuring compliance with data security policies; managing access controls, encryption, and auditing; providing guidance and mentorship to junior team members; collaborating with cross-functional teams to align database solutions with business needs; participating in capacity planning and strategic decision-making; and supporting ELT/ETL pipelines and Snowflake cost governance.
