Requirements

Candidates should possess at least four years of experience designing and building data sets and warehouses, demonstrating expertise in SQL for analytics, reporting, and business intelligence, as well as for building SQL- and Python-based transforms within an ETL pipeline. Experience in designing, architecting, and maintaining data warehouses and data marts that integrate data from production databases, clickstream data, and external APIs is essential, along with proficiency in a modern data stack utilizing a cloud-native data warehouse such as BigQuery, dbt, and Apache Airflow.

Responsibilities

The Senior Data Engineer will collaboratively refine and evangelize a comprehensive framework for integrating data-thinking into the software development lifecycle, design and architect core marketing datasets, data marts, and feature stores to support product teams, integrate with teams to understand data needs and design datasets with engineering rigor, drive data quality and best practices across business areas, and help build the next generation data products at Thumbtack based on real-time data products using technologies like Apache Kafka.
