Requirements

Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Deep experience with Databricks, Delta Lake, and AWS services like S3, Glue, and Lambda is required, along with 5+ years of experience in data engineering on cloud-based platforms, preferably AWS. Strong hands-on skills in Python, PySpark, and SQL, along with experience in data orchestration and infrastructure-as-code, are essential. A platform mindset focused on reusable patterns and long-term scalability, the ability to turn complex data needs into simple, maintainable solutions, and a collaborative approach are also required. Databricks certifications, experience integrating Databricks with enterprise data tools, and exposure to real-time data pipelines or streaming solutions are preferred.

Responsibilities

The Senior Data Architect will design and scale Databricks Lakehouse architecture on AWS to support diverse data workloads. They will architect, develop, and maintain robust and reusable data pipelines using Databricks (PySpark/Python) for structured and unstructured data, and implement and optimize Delta Lake structures and data modeling strategies. Responsibilities include building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for notebooks and job workflows, supporting version control and automated testing, and optimizing compute costs, cluster configurations, and query performance. The role involves configuring and managing Unity Catalog for access control, lineage, and data security, partnering with DevOps, Cloud, and Analytics teams to align infrastructure and business needs, and acting as a technical mentor to the engineering team.
