Senior Customer Success Architect - Middle East Region

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Customer Success Architect to join our Customer Success and Professional Services team, focusing on the Middle East Region. In this role, you will be instrumental in guiding customers to leverage streaming architectures and applications to achieve their business objectives. You will engage directly with customers, offering expertise in software architecture, design, and operations, with a strong emphasis on Apache Kafka, the Confluent platform, and related systems like Hadoop, Spark, Storm, and various databases. Your contributions will involve advocating for best practices, providing crucial product feedback, and assisting customers in overcoming operational challenges. You will build strong customer relationships, ensure exemplary delivery standards, and help customers develop cutting-edge streaming data infrastructure, while also optimizing existing deployments.

Responsibilities

• Customer Strategy Development: Assist customers in defining their platform and/or application strategies for adopting real-time, event-based business models. This often includes remote preparation, conducting onsite or remote workshops for customer architects, developers, and operations teams, investigating complex technical challenges with internal teams, and producing recommendation summaries.
• Product Feedback: Provide valuable feedback to Confluent's Product and Engineering groups.
• Tooling Development: Create tooling for internal teams or the wider company to enhance technical capabilities and ensure consistent, high-quality delivery.
• Testing: Test the performance and functionality of new components developed by the Engineering team.
• Documentation: Write or edit documentation and knowledge base articles, including reference architecture materials and design patterns derived from customer experiences.
• Skill Development: Continuously hone skills, build applications, and explore new product features.
• Community Engagement: Participate in community and industry events.

Requirements

• Big Data & Stream Processing Experience: Deep experience in designing, building, and operating production Big Data, stream processing, and/or enterprise data integration solutions, with a strong preference for Apache Kafka experience.
• Project Management: Demonstrated success in managing multiple B2B infrastructure software development projects, focusing on expansion, customer satisfaction, feature adoption, and retention.
• Linux Expertise: Proficient in operating Linux, including configuring, tuning, and troubleshooting both RedHat and Debian-based distributions.
• Cloud Experience: Experience utilizing cloud providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Microsoft Azure for high-throughput systems.
• JVM Tuning: Experience with Java Virtual Machine (JVM) tuning and troubleshooting.
• Distributed Systems: Familiarity with distributed systems, including Kafka, Hadoop, and Cassandra.
• Problem Solving: A strong drive and proven ability to tackle complex technical problems with minimal direct supervision.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication abilities, capable of clearly and concisely explaining intricate issues and complex solutions.
• Adaptability: Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
• Travel: Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% of the time to meet with customers.
