Requirements

Candidates must be a qualified solicitor in the UK (England & Wales) or admitted in an EU Member State, with at least 5 years of Post-Qualification Experience (PQE) in financial services law. Experience gained at a regulated financial services firm, crypto services provider, or in private practice is preferred, ideally with direct product counseling experience. Familiarity with MiFID investment services and relevant crypto-asset regimes like MiCA, AMLD5, UK financial promotions, and e-money regulations is desirable. Strong analytical, drafting, and organizational skills with clear, plain-English writing are essential, along with a pragmatic, commercially accountable approach to risk and a passion for crypto.

Responsibilities

The Senior Counsel – Product – UK/Europe will partner with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to shape and launch novel consumer products and experiences in the crypto space, including trading, earn, payments, and tokenised equities. This role involves providing clear, actionable guidance on complex legal and regulatory issues to non-lawyer stakeholders and delivering clear recommendations to decision-makers. The position requires advising on regulated MiFID investment services and relevant crypto-asset regimes, with a focus on navigating the intersection of crypto and traditional global markets.
