Requirements

Candidates should possess an HNC or higher qualification in Electrical, Electronic, or Control Engineering, or equivalent proven industry experience backed by a recognized engineering apprenticeship. Essential experience includes working on automation projects, interpreting PLC codes, debugging issues, and contributing to continuous improvement activities. Furthermore, familiarity with Siemens S7/TIA Portal and Allen Bradley Studio 5000 is required, along with structured programming knowledge in both platforms. Experience with Oracle databases is advantageous.

Responsibilities

The Senior Control Systems/Automation Engineer will provide innovative solutions to complex automation needs, collaborating with engineering colleagues on systems for motion control equipment. They will be responsible for fault finding, modifying PLC, HMI, and motion control systems for automated machinery, and contributing to the development of HR policies to ensure compliance with employment legislation. They will also monitor and interpret changes in employment legislation and deliver training on HR-related risk mitigation strategies, as well as aid in continuous improvement activities and document procedures within a highly regulated industry.
