Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree (or equivalent) and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
  • Advanced knowledge of job area combining breadth and depth, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience
  • Practical knowledge of project management
  • Ability to work independently under limited supervision to determine and develop approach to solutions
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement quality strategy, standards, tracking, and services for Customer Quality
  • Plan, perform, and implement process improvement initiatives (such as Lean or Six Sigma)
  • Diagram and evaluate existing processes
  • Organize, lead, and facilitate cross-functional project teams
  • Develop metrics that provide data for process measurement, identifying indicators for future improvement opportunities
  • Collect data to identify root cause of problems
  • Measure performance against process requirements
  • Align improvement to performance shortfalls
  • Provide consultation on the use of re-engineering techniques to improve process performance and product quality
  • Deliver presentations and training courses including measurement, analysis, improvement, and control
  • Survey and analyze best practices for techniques and processes
  • Communicate team progress
  • Perform cost and benefit analyses
  • Participate in implementing best practices and techniques in project management
  • Manage changing priorities on projects through effective schedule management and deployment of project management methodologies
  • Operate as role model by striving for continuous improvement and being an agent of change
  • Coach and review the work of lower level specialists; may manage projects / processes
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and training to other employees within job area
  • May direct the work of other lower level professionals and review others' work product
