Candidates should possess a degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems. A deep understanding of distributed systems, scalability challenges, multi-threading, concurrency, and parallel processing is required. Proficiency in Go, AWS, Kafka, GIT, ElasticSearch, Redis, and Python is necessary, along with a strong grasp of engineering best practices like testing, code reviews, and resilient architecture. The ability to scale backend systems through sharding, partitioning, and horizontal scaling is essential.
This role involves leading backend engineering efforts for rapid prototypes and large-scale applications, leveraging and building cloud-based systems within a micro-service architecture. Responsibilities include collaborating on brainstorming and defining product features, championing new technologies, and mentoring other developers. The engineer will also continuously re-evaluate and improve the product's architecture, knowledge models, user experience, performance, and stability. Additionally, they will contribute to and utilize the open-source community.
