Requirements

Candidates should have at least 3 years of professional experience in object-oriented backend development using languages such as C# or Java, with deep knowledge of OOP principles, design patterns, and backend system architecture. Proven success designing and building scalable distributed systems in Cloud environments such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is required. Advanced proficiency in writing and maintaining automated test suites, including unit, integration, and performance tests, for large-scale backend services is also necessary. A demonstrated ability to contribute through code reviews, design reviews, and collaborative investigation is expected.

Responsibilities

The Senior Backend Engineer will design and develop scalable back-end systems and APIs that power high-impact applications used by a large, engaged user base around the clock. They will deliver production-ready code, driving forward new features and capabilities in a 24/7 sports betting environment. The role involves owning the full software development lifecycle, from initial design through long-term maintenance, performance tuning, and reliability improvements. Responsibilities include triaging, investigating, and resolving production issues with urgency, and ensuring all components are built to withstand high volume and real-time demands. The engineer will also collaborate cross-functionally to align technical execution with product goals, mentoring peers and driving quality standards across the team.
