The Role

Angle Health is expanding its finance and accounting team and is searching for a motivated Senior Accountant to help revolutionize the health insurance industry. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, assisting with the month-end close, conducting internal audits, and handling other ad hoc tasks.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong interest in health insurance, excellent financial accounting and analytical skills, a bias toward action, and exceptional organizational and communication abilities. Our team moves quickly to make company-wide decisions, thus it is crucial to strike a balance between getting the details right while still moving fast. We are looking for someone eager to learn and grow with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the general ledger, prepare journal entries, and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and account reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to management on financial performance.
• Collaborate with the team to streamline financial processes and implement best practices.
• Assist in the preparation of tax filings and liaise with external auditors.
• Assist the Head of Finance/Accounting as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 4+ years of accounting experience.
• Working knowledge of GAAP.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
• Good problem-solving and time-management skills.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Accounting or Finance or CPA certification.
• Experience working for a startup.
• Experience with Sage Intacct.
• Experience in the Insurance industry.
• Big 4 accounting experience or audit experience.
