Account Manager - Higher Education and Research (Midwest)

Position Overview

We are seeking a high-energy and experienced professional with a proven track record in managing business relationships with research university accounts. This full-time Account Manager position will focus on top research universities and institutes in the Midwest, developing relationships and driving revenue. The ideal candidate has a strong knowledge of the Higher Education and Research (HER) business landscape and a passion for working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This role offers an outstanding opportunity to operate at the intersection of science and computational technology, driving the adoption of NVIDIA's platform to address significant scientific challenges and empower researchers across diverse domains.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects of account strategy creation and implementation, forecasting, sales account management, and research engagement for a select number of large university customers in the territory.
  • Serve as the key point of contact and relationship owner for a defined set of university customers.
  • Build key accounts into strategic partners, and drive sustained revenue, market share growth, and product footprint.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to universities, communicating NVIDIA's vision, technology, and research impact.
  • Develop relationships with senior university leaders to align NVIDIA's platform with institutional research priorities and drive large-scale adoption.
  • Forge strong connections with leading research labs and Principal Investigators across diverse scientific domains (e.g., AI/ML, life sciences, physical sciences, climate science, engineering, etc.).
  • Understand researchers' grand challenges and explore how NVIDIA's platform and expertise can accelerate their discovery process and scientific outcomes.
  • Contribute to the long-term success of the Higher Education and Research (HER) vertical by being a collaborative leader amongst peers.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the evolving HER landscape, scientific trends in key domains, and the capabilities of NVIDIA's full technology stack.
  • Ability to travel 20% or more as needed.

Requirements

  • BS degree, or equivalent experience, and a demonstrated commitment to lifelong learning.
  • 10+ years of experience selling to senior executives, research principal investigators, and IT at leading research universities.
  • A genuine passion for science, technology, and the mission of accelerating research.
  • High energy, self-motivation, and ability to thrive in a rapidly evolving environment.
  • Existing relationships in the target Universities.
  • A real passion for getting things done in a dynamic sales and technology environment.
  • Demonstrated track record leading significant revenue opportunities and overachieving targets to meet stretch goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide thought leadership, think strategically, and effectively communicate vision (both written and verbal) and influence cross-functionally.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and business acumen.
  • Located in the Midwest.
