Position Overview

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a creative and driven salesperson to join our Sales & Marketing team. This role focuses on developing and growing the robust Bioproduction market in France. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Sales for South-West Europe, you will be responsible for our entire Bioproduction portfolio, encompassing Gibco Cell Culture, POROS and Capture Select Purification, Applied Biosystems Pharma Analytics, and Thermo Scientific Single Use Technology brands. Our approach fosters empowerment and accountability, equipping you to deliver top-notch biopharmaceutical solutions.

A Day in the Life

This role requires a consultative approach to selling at all levels, engaging with technical, manufacturing, and commercial customers. You will:

  • Maintain and grow business within existing key Biopharma accounts.
  • Seek new customer relationships with curiosity.
  • Lead Key Accounts with key influencers, potentially spanning global geographies.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Manager to build and implement a Strategic Territory Plan.
  • Work closely with the Technical Sales Specialist team for each product area to develop and implement sales strategies.
  • Utilize judgment and prioritization to bring in appropriate resources to drive sales objectives.
  • Operate effectively in a hunter-selling environment, collaborating with other teams to deliver new proposals to customers.
  • Pursue existing and develop new sales opportunities within the territory to meet or exceed targets.
  • Work closely with the Field Applications group to ensure accurate support allocation for key evaluations and projects.
  • Provide accurate forecast and lost order reporting, along with competitive information.

Keys to Success

  • Life science degree or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in English and French.
  • Established sales history with a proven track record in Bioprocessing or a related field.
  • Existing knowledge of upstream and downstream groups within key biopharmaceutical accounts in France is desirable.
  • Ability to build strong technical skills to support requirements in Cell and Gene Therapy, recombinant Proteins, and Monoclonal antibodies in Process Development, Pilot Plants, and Manufacturing Sciences.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with designated accounts.
  • Understanding of customer manufacturing processes to provide perspective on improvements.
  • Strong analytical skills for analyzing territory sales data and technical information.
  • Ability to perform independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience using a CRM system such as Salesforce.com.
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout the assigned geography to meet customers.
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization with collaborators who share joint responsibility for certain product groups.
