Candidates must possess at least 9 years of cybersecurity experience, including proven leadership in scaling security teams and programs at fast-growing companies. Expertise in cloud and container security, hands-on vulnerability analysis, and a deep understanding of attack vectors are essential. Strong product instincts and experience in security product development are required, along with a direct technical background as a Security Engineer, Red Teamer, or former Software Engineer. Proven experience in leading security research initiatives and building enterprise security programs that meet compliance requirements are also necessary.
The Security Director will lead the security research team in analyzing AI model outputs and developing novel approaches to AI-assisted vulnerability analysis and threat detection. They will architect and implement the internal security program, establishing policies and controls to meet enterprise customer requirements and prepare for hypergrowth. This role involves working closely with product teams to embed security into development, guiding AI model training on technical exploitability, and establishing security research standards. The Director will also prepare the organization for compliance frameworks like SOC2 and ISO27001, build security practices to support enterprise sales, and represent Maze as a thought leader in AI-powered cybersecurity through community engagement.
