Requirements

  • Proficiency in math courses such as Numbers and Operations (9th Grade), Graphs and Relationships (10th Summer), Algebra/Pattern and Structure (10th Fall), Trigonometry (10th Spring), Precalculus (11th Summer), or SAT Math (11th Fall), determined by self-reported proficiency and demo lesson
  • Ability to commit to Saturday Academy programming schedule: synchronous online instruction Saturdays 8:45am-2:15pm (specific dates in January-May 2026 depending on grade level), plus asynchronous training (10 hours), orientations (e.g., 02/05, 5:30-8:00pm), and asynchronous academic support (Wednesdays 6-7pm on select weeks)
  • Comfort with online facilitation through Zoom in a bichronous program
  • Passion for educating motivated high school students

Responsibilities

  • Co-teach alongside Instructors to facilitate classroom instruction (three to four periods including ELA and Advisory), teach mini lessons, organize small group and one-on-one instruction, and provide additional Scholar support
  • Cover for instructor absences by leading the class independently
  • Follow provided lesson plans, meet lesson objectives, and abide by SEO’s criteria for rigorous instruction and student engagement
  • Complete self-guided asynchronous instructor training (10 hours)
  • Be available for office hours, meetings with Student Advisors, and asynchronous engagement with Scholars’ work
  • Navigate instructional technology (implied from context)
