Candidates should possess at least 5 years of experience in satellite operations or a related high-reliability system environment, with a working knowledge of satellite subsystem functionality. An engineering background in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Science is required, along with experience in solving complex, multi-system problems and creating operational processes. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential, as is the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and ambiguous environment, creating structure where needed. Experience with satellite command and control systems, telemetry analysis, mission planning, and on-orbit commissioning are considered nice-to-have skills, as is an understanding of ITAR/EAR regulations.
The Satellite Operations Platform Manager will serve as the liaison between orbiting spacecraft, the Satellite Operations team, and other engineering and business teams. This role involves translating customer contracts into operational reality by ensuring successful satellite commissioning, transition to nominal operations, and scaling for constellation growth. Responsibilities include coordinating across subsystems to meet contractual obligations, preparing the Satellite Operations team for fleet expansion, leading cross-functional team meetings for commissioning and anomaly reviews, developing commissioning plans, monitoring operational performance against contractual requirements, and ensuring the scalability of Satellite Operations systems and processes.
Designs and operates satellite constellations
Muon Space designs, deploys, and operates satellite constellations to provide Earth Intelligence that helps protect people, the climate, and ecosystems.
