Requirements
Candidates should possess at least 5 to 10 years of experience as an SAP ASE Database Administrator, with SME level knowledge in Sybase ASE, Sybase 16, and Replication Server, and experience in Sybase Replication Server, high availability, and disaster recovery solutions. Strong SQL and T-SQL skills are required, along with a good understanding of Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting abilities. Knowledge of Cloud Technologies and experience working within private/public cloud environments is a plus.
Responsibilities
The SAP ASE Database Administrator will continuously review capacity and predictive reports to efficiently allocate system resources and future capacity, install, upgrade, and patch multiple versions of Sybase ASE, manage incident responses and document solutions, perform backup and recovery tasks including analysis, strategy, and implementation, tune SQL to ensure optimal data access and response times, ensure database security and compliance standards are adhered to, coordinate database maintenance requirements, communicate with customers regarding database issues, and participate in on-call duties for 24/7 support, as well as automating database tasks for continuous service improvement.
